'Twas twenty-three nights before Christmas
When some seniors gave a shout,
"Let's go to Moody Gardens to see what this
Festival of Lights is all about."
When some seniors gave a shout,
"Let's go to Moody Gardens to see what this
Festival of Lights is all about."
Even though it was rainy as the bus we all got on,
We looked forward to the adventure and Carolyn
counted, "Thirty-one!"
Chris cranked up the powerful engine
And to Galveston we all went,
Avoiding traffic was impossible
But to be this trip was meant.
And to Galveston we all went,
Avoiding traffic was impossible
But to be this trip was meant.
Leader Carolyn got our tickets
For a buffet 'twas our meal;
Then a walk through lighted gardens
Was a true Christmas thrill.
For a buffet 'twas our meal;
Then a walk through lighted gardens
Was a true Christmas thrill.
We saw the Twelve Days of Christmas
Depicted in both lights and in song
As we entered the Festival gates
And down the path we went along.
Depicted in both lights and in song
As we entered the Festival gates
And down the path we went along.
Oh, the lights were all a'sparkle
And our senses were amazed
Colors dazzled, figures animated
As Christmas joy was upraised.
And our senses were amazed
Colors dazzled, figures animated
As Christmas joy was upraised.
Fish in lights leapt before us
From simulated waves they danced,
To give way to butterflies,
And up the pyramid they advanced.
From simulated waves they danced,
To give way to butterflies,
And up the pyramid they advanced.
Jesus' birth took center stage and Steve Smith the Gospel told,
Shepherds, wise men gathered round us and
The Christmas story in lights was impressive to behold.
Shepherds, wise men gathered round us and
The Christmas story in lights was impressive to behold.
The rain held off 'til we were done
And we'd surely had a ball
When the bus headed home to Baytown,
We cried "Merry Christmas, one and all!"
And we'd surely had a ball
When the bus headed home to Baytown,
We cried "Merry Christmas, one and all!"
